#13BCAA: List of winners at Technical Awards and Junior Cammies

by The Daily SeniApril 11, 2016

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 April 2016 — The 13th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards handed out prizes to winners of the Technical Awards and Junior Cammies today at Kakiseni Central Command, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.

Held two weeks prior to the main ceremony on 24 April, the Technical Awards honours outstanding work backstage, while the Junior Cammies recognise achievement in theatre among school-goers.

“Today, we’re paying tribute to all the wonderful people whose names you read in the program book but don’t know how they look like,” candidly stated Kakiseni president Low Ngai Yuen.

This year marks the fourth edition of the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards to have singled out its technical and student awards. The awards show has been hosting a separate ceremony for behind-the-scenes work and school-going theatremakers in  an effort to focus on these segments of theatre practitioners.

Chief executive officer of BOH Plantations, Caroline Russell, also informed attendees that a total of 86 productions were judged throughout the year.

Founded by performing arts organisation Kakiseni in 2002, the awards show is the only one of its kind which celebrates Malaysian performing arts, specifically theatre, musical theatre, dance and music.
