This Saturday is Buy Nothing Day. It’s a pretty big deal worldwide (although it happens on a range of dates internationally) and now Uber has even hopped on board to give Malaysians the chance to travel for free.
Partnering up with Lab DNA for the annual, one-day event, Uber is offering two free rides within the Klang Valley, valued at RM20 each to all users! All you need to do is key in BUYNOTHING into the code field, sit back and relax.
In case you missed it, we wrote our quick guide to Buy Nothing Day, happening in Medan Pasar on 28 November. There’ll be heaps of stuff going on, so make sure to check out Facebook for comprehensive information.
In case you need a reminder, here’s something to refresh your memory.
Yes, we know Buy Nothing Day isn’t merely about going to a square and indulging in free food prepared by other people, but as Malaysians we know you lot don’t care for much else.
It’s a pretty crazy day if you’re not looking to spend money, by the way.
If getting and making free stuff isn’t up your alley, take note that the KL 48 Hour Film Project will also be holding screenings on the day. That won’t be happening all day, so make sure to drop by the BMW Shorties Festival when you have the time, also happening on the same day!
Buy Nothing Day is brought to you by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur and ThinkCity in collaboration with labDNA and sponsored by Citi Foundation, as part of an urban initiative to rejuvenate public spaces within KL Heritage & Cultural Precinct. Head over to Facebook for more information on Buy Nothing Day.
