Take A Trip To 16th Century India With ‘Sand The Musical’!

by Tania KnuttAugust 5, 2015

Blend a young and innovative team with an array of musical genres, top it all off with catchy hooks and a script filled with hilarity and honesty, then mix it up like how you’d mix your rice with curry (condiments on the side) and voila, you get Sand The Musical, an adventure that will take you way back to another time and place!

Sand The Musical is set in 16th century Rajasthan, India – it’s an engaging tale of happiness, heartbreak, unshakable friendship and the relentless march of time towards destiny. It’s a production by The Indigo Soul Project, a young and growing company constantly on the lookout for fresh ideas and talent as well as a unique platform for creatives to exercise and showcase their creativity.

The team Indigo team has created, produced and organized events like Kali Within (which was performed in 2014 at One Music Academy) and A Love Remembered to name a few.

The music on show will be directed by musician Santosh Logandran, who has combined the best of his cultural roots with a mix of blues and rock, complete with dialogue-styled lyrics by local rapper Vix.

From what we’ve heard, the quick lines that run throughout the play promise to be brisk, funny and occasionally serious. We can only imagine the exquisite dancing that is set to accompany everything!

Curious? Want to find out more? Make sure to keep up to date with the team via their Facebook page or Sand The Musical‘s page.

Sand the Musical will run from August 13-16 and August 20-23 at Theater KuAsh, Taman Tun Dr Ismail. For tickets, get on Ticketpro or simply call 03-7880 7999.
