We’ve been gone for a while, but now we’re back with so much more. Here’s all of the local tracks that we thought we should highlight from November. From the phenomenal release of Masdo’s debut studio album, Selamat Tinggal Pujaan, veteran rappers releasing new hit singles and we also have new upcoming talents in the mix. In this playlist is also a review of the collaboration between Takahara Suiko and the Pinholes. There’s one for everyone!

My first exposure to hip-hop was  a comedic skit (I think it was either Senario or Ah-Ha). The scene was using Too Phat‘s Anak Ayam Freak to the Beat, specifically the ya-aw-aw’s that were playing throughout the track.

Hip hop was a mere caricature.

Apa itu puisi? Adakah ia seni atau sastera?

Ini mungkin soalan yang dangkal. Takrifan seni luas dan dalam. Sekiranya kita mengejar erti seni melalui takrifannya kita mungkin akan menyimpang dari niat asal seni itu sendiri; menjadi pseudo-intelektualis yang hilang dalam mainan falsafahnya sendiri.

Namun soalan itu masih perlu dijawab.

WE’VE had a number of genres of music festival throughout the year but it’s rare to find a music festival that caters to Soul, Hip Hop and RnB all in one. Well music lovers, come October 17th you’re going to get your fix of those musical genres. We’re so excited we can’t contain it!!!
