WE all know that adverts play an extremely crucial part in customer consumption, but have you ever stopped to consider that advertising is one field that has lasted for hundreds (perhaps even thousands) of years?
Take for example this lovely geometric artwork advertising heroin among other things, printed before the Prohibition.
Did you know that back then, heroin was a sought-after remedy for coughs?
Bottles pre-Prohibition were also notorious for not carrying a list of constituents. Who could have known then that Mrs. Winslow’s Soothing Syrup had 65mg of morphine per fluid ounce?
Turned that baby’s frown upside down, we bet.
