Move aside, Lady Gaga! Madonna has just snagged the role as the face of Versace, proving that she is still in demand by the fashion industry even after being in entertainment for a staggering 30 years. The iconic veteran’s signature unapologetic presence can be seen gracing the brand’s Spring/Summer campaign, which has just been released. In the campaign spread, the singer was articulately decked in pieces from the SS15 collection.
The campaign’s images were captured to finesse in New York City by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott. With the black & white shots, the creative duo paid tribute to every side of Madonna that we’ve all came to celebrate over the years: visionary, pop star, businesswoman, humanitarian, entertainer, documentarian and director.
The campaign connotes the fourth collaboration between the pop icon and the Italian brand. She was first seen peppering their advertisement in 1995, and had posed for two others since then, much to the buzzy delight of her fans and fashion aficionados alike.
“It’s always exciting to be dressed head to toe in Versace and experience first-hand Donatella’s vivid imagination and passion that she has created for this collection,” commented Madonna, when asked about working with Versace again.
“Madonna is one of the true icons of Versace,” echoes Donatella Versace. “I am thrilled to have my friend and the most powerful and directional artist as the face of Versace for Spring 2015.”
