They started off the year with an amazing video for their single Sepintas Sastera Hati and now they’re in the process of making a new album. Check out the latest episode of Keeping Track to join our hangout with the Ramayan folks!
Ramayan first got their big break back in 2016, when their single Oh Dewiku started decorating so many local indie playlists as your go-to love song for fans of folk pop with a little hint of Nusantara psychedelia. They’re planning to do more with their sound, but staying true to their love for melodies.
Keeping Track with Ramayan Pt. 1
In the first part, we talk about their upcoming album, memories of past performances, and how they came to be a band.
“[One of the things that’s always missing in the music scene] is identity. How they brand themselves as a band. Macam mana diorang tunjukkan apa yang diorang ada, instead of buat apa yang orang lain dah buat”
“Ada asap ada api”
Keeping Track with Ramayan Pt. 2
Ramayan shares with us their love for good melodies and their influences.
“Those yang legendary before dah tua, they can’t present the same energy they did before. You won’t think it’s best gile, but they’re still pretty decent”
