Did You Guys Know That The Daily Seni Has An Amazing And Awesome Youtube Channel?! Also We Need To Talk About Sheila, Guys.

The Daily Seni has had a fully-functional account for eons now, and we’ve always wondered if our readers knew it exists. We’re guessing not based on the miserable view counts but hey, now you know.

We’ve been making things like Top 10 countdowns for music (based on Deezer‘s streaming charts) and film (based on overall Malaysian box office) complete with some snazzy video editing courtesy of our very own Marwan Zaharudin who keeps himself locked in the multimedia room during work hours.

You can also find montages and highlights of events we’ve visited, but the thing we really want to talk about is our super-exclusive Daily Seni Close Up Sessions!

Now in its second installment, our Close Up Sessions shine the spotlight on our very own musical discoveries. They’re not merely for the hipsters – we had Akademi Fantasia finalist turned legit indie musician  in our first session – and we can ensure you that it’s about to get bigger and better.

We’re writing this to alert you of our latest discovery, Sheila Julis.

Discovered during the International Finger-Style Guitar Festival at PJ Live Arts during Raya season, Sheila totally killed it when she stepped on stage. Aside from mad guitar skills, she also boasts an exceptional voice (which she rarely uses)!

We find her music irresistable however because she has a great knack at incorporating nusantara elements into her music. The track featured in the video above, Song of the Sky People, is written for the Batek tribe, a colony which resides in Taman Negara.
