Cuban Artist Yunior Hurtado Makes It To America With Vibrant Urban Portraits

by Tharany M.August 6, 2015

Here’s a Cuban artist who does colourful and bright oil paintings!

Yunior Hurtado Torres was born in Villa Clara in 1977. He began studying fine art at the age of eleven and eventually attended the Oscar Fernandez Moreira Academy of Arts, graduating three years later as a painter, sculptor and art restorer.

In his biography, he mentions that his works are focused on the figurative. Our favourite of the bunch are these ladies in big cities with shades on. Below is a series we would like to call Lady In Shades.

We don’t really understand what he means, but the former professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Santa Clara had his first exhibition in America last month at the Mike Wright Gallery in Denver.
