Wanna get into a year-long visual art residency at Rimbun Dahan?

by Aizuddin NorzaidSeptember 16, 2016

YEARS since Rimbun Dahan‘s last open call for their residency program in 2013, applications are open again for its Year-Long Residency for Malaysian Visual Artists 2017. The programme returns in hopes that more Malaysian artists are able to spend time on Rimbun Dahan grounds in order to explore their capabilities.

Rimbun Dahan has always been an advocate for the arts: its large compound serves as an “art sanctuary” dedicated to the cultivation of traditional and contemporary art forms from visual art to dance choreography. For this year’s programme, it is looking forward to help and discover visual artists who are interested in growing their art practices, explore new ideas in their work, produce a new body of work, form a solid platform for themselves in the field of art, or even all of the above.

Artists who are motivated and ready to push themselves to the limits will have to commit themselves fully in investing their time, energy as well as the resources provided through this residency.

All the hard work will lead up to the climax slash finale of the residency which will see an exhibition held at Rimbun Dahan’s underground gallery in November next year.

All you have to do to apply is submit a bio or CV, samples of your recent work, and also a statement on how this residency program can help you cultivate your art and why Rimbun Dahan should consider you as a resident artist. It’s that easy!

That’s about all we can tell you for now but get extra information on perks and eligibility via Rimbun Dahan’s website and  page. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favour!
