by Maira ZamriJanuary 18, 2016

On Thursday, 14 January 2016, Creative Content Industry Recognition Framework (CCIRF) Certificate were handed out by the Creative Content Industry Guild (CCIG) at the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).

CCIG historically awards the recognition based on a candidate’s contribution to the creative industry as opposed to academic achievements.

Over 236 individuals were recognised for their work behind the scenes in the creative multimedia sector encompassing TV and film production, advertising, design, animation, digital content and music.

Dato’ A Aida, Gayatri Su-Lin Pillai and Dennes Kumar Ragupathy were among some of the recipients of CCIRF on Thursday night.

According to mStar, Chairman of CCIG, Dato’ Jurey Latiff Rosli, during his speech said the profiles of the certificate holders will be published on CCIG’s online portal to attract investors as well as local and international production companies.

Certificate holders will also be able to further broaden their knowledge at Institutes of Higher Education (IPTA) at a master’s level and also be given the privilege of becoming educators.

CCIG is also in the midst of talks on hosting more seminars and courses that can polish the talents of members in the future. Their role, among other things, is to help improve the potential of industry practitioners.

Also present at the ceritificate-giving ceremony were Dato’ Jailani Johari (Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia), Dato’ Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib (Chairman of FINAS) and Khalidah Mohd Darus (Deputy Director of FINAS).

CCIG offers membership and valuable industry-led certification to creative content industry practitioners.

At present, CCIG is overseen and supported by the government through limited funding from the Performance Management Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) via FINAS.

The CCIG website states that it was registered with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia on 23 August 2011.
