DPAC applications for venue sponsorship 2017 is now open!

by The Daily SeniJuly 12, 2016

THE Damansara Performing Arts (DPAC) is once again accepting applications for venue sponsorship in 2017!

What this means is that a lucky few will get to use DPAC’s theatre space absolutely free of charge, or at the very least shave off a chunk of venue costs.

If you remember, last year’s applicants include Tunas Tari‘s children dance drama Mana Kuntum, as well as Anomalist Production‘s Home — which won the Audience Choice Award at this year’s BOH Cammies.

The grant is open to a wide range of productions be they dance, theatre, musicals or anything that suits the space — pitch whatever you have in mind, however out of the box they may seem! Multiple applications are also welcomed so don’t worry if you have more than one project.

DPAC has quite the reputation, having seen acclaimed shows such as Nam Ron‘s Laut Lebih Indah Dari Bulan and Disney‘s The Lion King on its stage. Located in Empire Damansara, it’s one of the better-known theatre spaces around town.

In fact, drop by soon for the highly-anticipated in-house DPAC Arts Festival from 25 – 31 July 2016 and have a look at how acclaimed artists such as Bernard Goh and Christopher Ling use the space in their upcoming productions!

If you are a Malaysian citizen planning to stage the performance from 1 Jan 2017 – 31 May 2017 and are ready to assume full administrative responsibility in the production that you are applying for, good news: you’re eligible!

You have three months. Deadline for applications is 15 October 2016, so send in your pitches now!

Head over to DPAC and check out the application guideline and form for more info!
